Spah and Spah in the Champions League final

10bt – The future of Roma’s goalkeepers?

– In this week’s issue of Football Italian, I speak to the team’s new keeper, Paolo Spah.

10bt: Congratulations on your first Champions League goalkeeping appearance.

What was it like?

10bt (in Italian): You are now in the first round of the Champions Leagues.

Is that something you were hoping for?

10b: I always wanted to play in the final of the Europa League, but I didn’t know when it would happen.

10b (in English): You’re the first goalkeeper to play a Champions League game in your homeland.

Do you feel honoured?

10pb: I’m happy, but also a little bit nervous, because I know what I’m going to get.

10pb (in Spanish): You’ll have to take your time.

I don’t know what the next steps will be, but it’ll be very important.

10bb: There’s a lot of talk about you playing for Roma, but what does it mean for the future?

10bb (in German): You can’t play in Europe if you’re a player in Italy.

10bp: I’ve always played for Roma.

I never thought I’d see the day when I’d be playing for another club.

10bc: You played in the same team with Andrea Pirlo and Andrea Mancini, so I’ve never heard much about you.

10bd: I’ll take it all in stride.

10be: You have played in Serie A before, and the same is true for the Champions.

10bf: I have never played against anyone from Italy before, but after the game, I’ve heard that it’s a special atmosphere here.

10bg: I hope to play more, but my goal is always to keep my goal.

10bs: You’ll be playing against a Roma team who will be trying to win their second title in three seasons.

10ba: I didnt think I’d get into this team.

10bu: I was very happy that I got to play for the club.

11bf: It was a great opportunity for me, and I am looking forward to the next stage.

11bt: I like the way we played.

I am very proud of our performance.

11bw: We didntt have a lot in the way of chances, but our goalkeeping was very good and we did a great job.

11bc: We have a strong mentality.

We are very disciplined.

11be: The atmosphere was very important for me. 11ba: When we went out in the second half, we were very calm and focused, and our attitude was very positive.

11bb: We had good games, but in the end, we didnnt win.

11bd: It’s difficult to judge what the final result means.

The players are very excited, but the fans are also very happy.

11bg: You must have a really good night’s sleep after this game.

11bh: I am really excited, because this is a new challenge for me and I think I am going to enjoy it. 11bs: It will be very hard for me to take a step back from this game, because my team-mates will try to help me. 12bf: You did well in the opening half, and then you started to play better.

12bh: You also played a lot with a different formation.

12bc: I feel very confident.

12be: It’ll be tough to beat this team, but we have a good mentality and we know that we have to continue to play our best football.

12bs: In the second goal, we had an excellent chance, but then we gave away a penalty.

12bt: You had a good nights sleep after the match.

12ba: The fans are very happy, as they can be. 12bw.

Ive played a bit more, so hopefully I can improve more.

12bg: The players will try very hard, but at the end of the day, well just have to work for every minute.

12bb: I think we have some good qualities.

12bp: We need to continue working on our technical qualities, but if we do that, we can win the match, so we will go into the second leg as favourites.

12bd: At the end we will be disappointed.

12bu: We knew we had a great chance in the match and we just didnve done it, but when you play against this team you need to win the game.

12bec: I played against a few teams that were a little better than us, but you need a good performance to be able to beat a big team.

12bes: At this moment, we know we need to stay in the game and stay calm.

12bl: It is a
